Visit to the Zoo and Parents' Night at Preschool

Today we visited our local zoo (this is just the second time that Ethan has ever been there!) It was an absolutely beautiful day, and surprisingly the zoo was not very crowded at all. It was even Community Day, so admission to the zoo was drastically discounted which was a bonus since we don't currently have a membership there.
Ethan tried to pet some baby sharks, but they were kind of elusive, so I'm not sure if he ever actually got to touch one
Daddy held Ethan up to get a better view of some of the animals
During our previous visits to zoos it seemed that either the animals were asleep in the exhibits out of view, or they were active but you had to wade through crowds of people in order to see them. Today we had the fun experience of the animals being active or at least visible in the exhibits, and we could walk right up to see them. Ethan got the opportunity to feed some sweet potato to a giraffe, and we were surprised to see how long the giraffe's tongue was!

Ethan enjoyed petting the goats at the petting zoo
This was Ethan's first time to get to ride on an "up and down" carousel animal. At the children's museum, kids are not permitted to ride up and down until they turn 3, and (I think that) the carousel there is the only one that Ethan had ridden on before today.

This evening Dan and I attended the Parents' Night at Ethan's preschool. I was impressed with how prepared and organized the director and teachers were, and I'm sure that Ethan's going to learn a lot and have so much fun there. Thank you so much Gail and Gino for babysitting the boys for us during the meeting!
