Frigidaire Freezers are on my BAD List
We bought a supplementary freezer for our basement in May of 2004. At that time our basement was unfinished, and we didn't want to invest too much in the freezer, so we purchased a Frigidaire (one of the cheaper upright models). It has served us well until tonight. Dan went to get some food from the freezer and thought that it seemed a bit mushy for frozen green beans. He investigated, and sure enough the freezer was broken, most of the items inside it were cold, but not frozen, and there was water pooling underneath it. Ugh!! How frustrating. Dan had worked very hard to painstakingly install our laminate flooring, and now at least 4 of the boards are damaged and the freezer is useless. It's getting electricity because the light comes on when you open the door, it just won't cool or seal. That's what we get, I suppose, for purchasing something on the cheaper side of the options out there. Even so, we would have expected it to last more than 4 1/2 yrs. I hope that as the flooring dries out the boards regain their original shape. This may be wishful thinking though... We also lost some of our frozen food, but I am most upset about damage to the flooring that I love so much!

Try defrosting the unit, then powering it back up. I gather that occasionally, there's some kind of drain in the bottom that will clog, which somehow affects its cooling ability. I realize this doesn't help your flooring issue, but it might save you from having to buy a new freezer.
