New Christmas Ornaments and Nativity

Now that we have kids, Dan and my Christmas tree has shifted from boring standard ornaments to having fun, sentimental, and handmade ornaments. Ethan contributed several neat ones to the tree this year. He made two of them during craft time at his preschool Christmas party, a stocking and a reindeer:
Another was a special Christmas gift for me and Dan that his teachers helped him make:
An addition under our tree this year is a nativity set that my cousin, John's, family gave us last year.
If you are familiar with Resurrection Eggs as a way to teach children the story of Easter, this nativity set was created by the makers of Resurrection Eggs. It is kind of a combination advent calendar/nativity. Each nativity piece comes in a numbered box, and there is a corresponding section of a book that you read each time you prepare to open a box. Each section of the book explains a little more about the Christmas story. Ethan was SO excited about this nativity that he wanted to read the whole book and open all of the boxes right away. It took a lot of patience for him to wait a little while between opening boxes. In the end I gave in to his pleading to open more, and we did the last 3 boxes on the same day. If you are interested in learning more about it, it's called What God Wants for Christmas and is described on the packaging as an interactive, kid-friendly nativity set.
