Two Big Firsts Today- First "Real" Haircut and First Whole Milk

As mentioned in a previous post, Ethan's hair has grown pretty long and shaggy, and he was in need of a "real" haircut. I have trimmed the hair over his ears on a couple of occasions, but he is so squirmy that it is difficult to do a decent job. So, we took him to Clubhouse Cuts for Kids today for his first real haircut. He got to sit in a yellow racecar chair and watch part of a Baby Einstein DVD. He did so well!! The hairstylist was very experienced with little ones, and she worked quickly and did a great job. For a little additional cost, she provided us with tiny ziploc baggies of some locks of his hair and a certificate with his picture on it that says when and where he got his first haircut. Of course I took our digital camera too and took quite a few pics. Here they are:

During haircut:
After haircut:

As some of you may recall, Ethan was born with a lot of hair, including a little "tail" in back that I never did cut off. The hairstylist cut the tail of hair off and used clippers on the back.

All done and enjoying the racecar:Today I added a little bit of whole milk to a couple of Ethan's bottles for the first time. We will work on transitioning him to whole milk over the next couple of weeks. He didn't seem to notice that there was anything different about his bottle, so we're hoping that this will be an easy transition.

Oh, what a cutie! Yes, the first haircut is sentimental, but they look so cute & a bit more grown up when it's all done.

Love the haircut! What a neat place to have it done, too.
